Start With What You Enjoy
First things first, pick an activity that you enjoy. It’s super important to start with something you love to do because you’re more likely to stick with it. Whether that be swimming, cycling, jogging, or even dancing in your living room, all physical activities are a great place to start. Don’t overthink it!
Begin Slowly
It’s important to kick off your journey with moderate activities. So, don’t jump right into the deep end. Starting gently ensures you don’t overstress your body and helps to build endurance over time. But what does starting slowly mean? I’m glad you asked! It means starting with a duration and intensity that feels manageable for you. That’s right, it’s all about you!
Gradually Increase Intensity
As your body gets used to the exercise, it’s time to ramp up the intensity. It’s okay to challenge yourself but always listen to your body. If something doesn’t feel right, take it down a notch. Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint!
Plan Your Weekly Routine
Consistency is key to make your workouts a part of your daily life. It’s a good idea to pencil out a plan for each week. Choose the days and times you are most likely to work out and stick to those. If something gets in the way, reschedule rather than cancel, and pat yourself on the back for every completed workout!
