Sports Performance at CFNAC – Powered by Athlete’s Zone
Professional coaching and structured athletic development for high-performance youth athletes.
Jim Reeves brings 28 years of experience in high-performance sports development to Athlete’s Zone inside CrossFit Newmarket Aurora Central. As a Certified Athletic Therapist, Registered Kinesiologist, and Certified Functional Strength Coach, he has worked with Olympic medalists, professional athletes, drafted players, collegiate scholarship recipients, and thousands of competitive youth athletes across multiple sports.
That same structured, evidence-based system is now applied to developing young athletes in Aurora. If your son or daughter is serious about improving strength, speed, mobility, and confidence in competition, this program provides a clear and measurable path forward.
Every Athlete Begins With a Professional Evaluation
Before training begins, every athlete completes a structured evaluation process. Using the Functional Movement Screen, Performance Evaluation protocols, and an InBody Scan, Jim Reeves assesses fundamental movement patterns to identify imbalances, left-to-right asymmetries, mobility and stability limitations, along with measuring strength, power, body composition, and overall athletic capacity.
This is not a generic fitness test. It is a performance-based assessment designed to uncover movement inefficiencies, highlight performance strengths, and identify areas requiring focused improvement or that may increase injury risk. The result is a targeted development plan built to correct weaknesses and accelerate progress. When training starts with precision, improvement becomes measurable — and your competitive advantage becomes intentional.
Structured Development. Individualized Progression.
The Athlete’s Zone program operates on a structured continuum of long-term athletic development. Athletes 12 and under typically begin in the Initiation stream, where foundational movement skills, coordination, balance, and body control are developed. Ages 12–14 often enter the Developmental stream, while athletes 14+ typically progress into the Competitive stream.
Placement, however, is guided by their assessment — not age alone. Evaluation results determine the most appropriate starting point for each athlete, and progression is based on demonstrated readiness and performance improvement. Within each stream, athletes train core movement skills together, but strength development, stability work, core training, and corrective exercises are individualized based on their testing results and performance goals.
Expert Coaching. Supported by Professional Technology.
Technology does not replace coaching — it enhances it. With 28 years of high-performance experience, Coach Jim combines hands-on technical instruction with tools such as the TrainHeroic online training platform, OnForm video analysis software, performance tracking systems, vibration platforms, soft-tissue recovery tools, pneumatic compression sleeves, and structured recovery protocols to guide each athlete’s development. Athletes are coached, corrected, and taught — not simply supervised.
Development does not stop when the session ends. Athletes receive structured warm-up programs for practices and games, individualized at-home programs when managing injuries or movement limitations, and a Daily Recovery Program — a 15-minute dynamic flexibility and restoration routine designed to be completed independently. The goal is to build disciplined habits within each athlete that support performance year-round, not just inside the facility.
Proven at the Highest Levels. Applied to Developing Athletes.
For nearly three decades, Coach Jim has worked with athletes competing at the Olympic, professional, and national levels across multiple sports. His experience includes the development of professionally drafted players, collegiate scholarship recipients, and elite competitors in hockey, golf, soccer, volleyball, baseball, lacrosse, football, cricket, and more.
The same principles used to prepare high-level athletes — movement efficiency, force production, structured progression, and disciplined recovery — guide the development of every athlete inside Athlete’s Zone. Your son or daughter benefits from a system built at the highest levels of sport and applied intentionally to their stage of growth, competitive goals, and long-term potential.

The First Step Is a Professional Evaluation.
Athletic development is not random. It is built on assessment, progression, and consistent coaching over time. Athlete’s Zone provides a structured system designed to improve movement efficiency, strength, power, and long-term athletic performance.
The Performance Evaluation allows us to assess your athlete properly, identify the appropriate starting point within our developmental pathway, and outline a clear plan for progression. If you are looking for a professional, evidence-based approach to sports performance, this is where it begins.
